Using Task Manager

The Task Manager is a tool that allows you to monitor and manage applications, processes, and system performance.

Opening Task Manager

  1. Using Keyboard Shortcut:
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager directly.
  2. Using Ctrl + Alt + Delete:
    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager.

Key Features of Task Manager

  1. Processes Tab:
    • View running applications and background processes.
    • End unresponsive tasks by selecting them and clicking End Task.
  2. Performance Tab:
    • Monitor CPU, memory, disk, and network usage.
  3. Startup Tab:
    • Enable or disable programs that start automatically when the computer boots.
  4. Users Tab:
    • View active users and their resource usage.

Example: Ending an Unresponsive Program

  1. Open Task Manager and go to the Processes tab.
  2. Select the unresponsive program.
  3. Click End Task to close it.
