Opening and Closing Applications
Applications (or programs) are software tools that allow you to perform specific tasks on your computer.
Opening Applications

Using the Start Menu:
- Click the Start Menu (Windows icon) at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Scroll through the list of applications or type the name of the application in the search bar.
- Click the application to open it.

Using Desktop Shortcuts:
- Double-click the application’s icon on the desktop.

Using the Taskbar:
- If the application is pinned to the taskbar, click its icon to open it.
Closing Applications

Using the Close Button:
- Click the X button at the top-right corner of the application window.

Using the Taskbar:
- Right-click the application’s icon on the taskbar and select Close Window.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Press
Alt + F4to close the currently active application.

Force Closing Applications
If an application becomes unresponsive:
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Escto open the Task Manager. - Select the unresponsive application.
- Click End Task.
