Using the Keyboard and Mouse
The keyboard and mouse are the primary input devices for interacting with a computer.
Using the Keyboard
The keyboard allows you to type text and use shortcuts to perform tasks.
- Typing: Press the keys to type letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Special Keys:
- Enter: Confirms a command or moves to the next line.
- Backspace: Deletes the character before the cursor.
- Shift: Used to type uppercase letters or symbols.
- Ctrl (Control): Used in combination with other keys for shortcuts (e.g.,
Ctrl + Cto copy).
- Arrow Keys: Navigate through text or menus.
Using the Mouse
The mouse is used to point, click, and interact with items on the screen.
- Left-Click: Select or open an item.
- Right-Click: Opens a context menu with additional options.
- Double-Click: Quickly click twice to open files or folders.
- Scroll Wheel: Scroll up and down on a page.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts can save time:
