Creating, Renaming, and Deleting Files

Managing files and folders is an essential skill for organizing your data.

Creating a File or Folder

  1. Create a File:
    • Open an application (e.g., Notepad).
    • Type your content and save the file (File > Save As).
  2. Create a Folder:
    • Right-click on the desktop or in File Explorer.
    • Select New > Folder and give it a name.

Renaming a File or Folder

  1. Right-click on the file or folder.
  2. Select Rename.
  3. Type the new name and press Enter.

Deleting a File or Folder

  1. Right-click on the file or folder.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. The item will move to the Recycle Bin. To permanently delete it, empty the Recycle Bin.

Restoring Deleted Files

  1. Open the Recycle Bin.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Restore.
