Creating, Renaming, and Deleting Files
Managing files and folders is an essential skill for organizing your data.
Creating a File or Folder
- Create a File:
- Open an application (e.g., Notepad).
- Type your content and save the file (
File > Save As).
- Create a Folder:
- Right-click on the desktop or in File Explorer.
- Select
New > Folderand give it a name.
Renaming a File or Folder
- Right-click on the file or folder.
- Select
Rename. - Type the new name and press
Enter.
Deleting a File or Folder
- Right-click on the file or folder.
- Select
Delete. - The item will move to the Recycle Bin. To permanently delete it, empty the Recycle Bin.
Restoring Deleted Files
- Open the Recycle Bin.
- Right-click on the file and select
Restore.
